Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive from the United Auto Workers who was also a mother. Delaney has four older brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling in high school and eventually gaining commercials following her move into New York.
