Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Her debut EP Pho, released which was released on 21 October 2016 was released through Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released in May of 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012, with the release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her release new music through the internet including Bound. On July 21st, 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time, wanted to have her work on Rihanna reference. The official signing ceremony was held by Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat, a track she recorded together with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. The 21st of October, 2016, the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. She also appeared as a guest on two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th of July in 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it came out on the 5th. The second single she released was called Grampa on the 9th of November. In November 2013 she released No One and Pedigree. Then she appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same title. The song was followed by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 that surpassed three million views on YouTube within its first seven days. She was the supporting act for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
